Vast expanses of deep blue lake shimmer right up to forested shores in Voyageurs National Park, a watery retreat favored by boaters, houseboaters and paddlers alike.
The Mississippi Valley Chamber Orchestra is a community orchestra consisting of talented musicians from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. MVO presents 4-5 concerts per year,
The orchestra was founded as a chamber group in 1976 by Ed Schlueter. MVO has evolved into a polished symphony orchestra performing a broad repertoire ranging from baroque Bach orchestral suites to romantic Mahler symphonies of gargantuan proportions. The orchestra has also performed new works, many by local composers, and has a long tradition of performing modern works from the twentieth century.
Christina Chen-Beyers is the Artistic Director in our 38th Season. The MVO also welcomes guest conductor Henry Charles Smith for 3 concerts this season.
