Watery wilderness and paddlers' paradise, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is best known for its long-distance water trails, though there is also a selection of land routes on hand for aspiring hikers.
Situated on the shore of Upper and Lower Sakatah lakes, this wooded park offers camping, biking, hiking, fishing and canoeing. The 39-mile Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail bisects the park, offering year-round opportunities for recreation. The park offers picnicking, a boat access and a fishing pier. Cross-country skiing is offered during the winter.
