For some, the essence of camping is finding your own site away from people and even signs of people. Dispersed campers have few formal regulations, but these campers bear a responsibility to the Forest to follow the seven principles of the Leave No Trace outdoor ethic. Good camping is more than just setting up a tent. Dispersed campers need to be aware of the current best practices of site selection, waste disposal, and fire control in order to minimize their impact on the Superior National Forest. They also need to know Forest regulations and fire restrictions
