Carefully groomed greens shape the face of top North American golfing destination, Brainerd, though this central Minnnesota city is also close to a handful of historic sites and sparkling lakes.
Hewitt Public School was built in 1910 and listed on the National Historic Register in 2006. The building was retired as a public school in 1981. Soon after this closing the building became home to the Hewitt Museum. The Hewitt Museum was created to preserve & promote the history of the City of Hewitt, MN along with the Stowe Prairie Township. The Museum has recently received a Legacy grant to repair and restore the building's roof and windows. Come see what we're up to! The Museum is open weekends from Memorial Day to Oct. 1st from Noon to 4pm on Saturdays or by appointment.
