Description

Paddle or ski into your own remote cabin on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. We are not a resort - our remote cabins offer privacy, solitude and wonderful opportunities to see and hear wildlife. Each cabin is on a different lake. Comfortable cabins with canoes, gas appliances and saunas. We escort you in and out upon arrival and departure. We now have one cabin with indoor plumbing and electricity. Most of the cabins are open in the winter. Log Cabin Hideaways allows you and your family to enjoy precious time in the wilderness in the comfort of a cabin. These deluxe cabins have no phones, no electricity and no running water. They do have gas lights, cooking and refrigeration, wood-burning stoves and LOTS OF SECLUSION. All of our cabins are close to the BWCAW, some just a portage or two away. You can spend your days paddling, fishing, skiing or just relaxing with a good book. Some of our guests even take a day trip to Ely to check out the International Wolf Center, the Dorothy Molter Museum, or the many unique shops and restaurants. Ely is a colorful, small, safe community you will enjoy. We assist all of our guests to and from the cabins. We introduce you to the cabins, make sure you are comfortable and at ease. Then we say good-bye for a week. (The cabins all have cell phone capability.) Because the cabins are secluded, there are many opportunities to view wildlife. Our guests have seen and photographed moose, wolves, deer, black bear, pine martens and numerous species of birds, including bald eagles. All of the cabins are located within wolf pack territories. WE ARE NOT A RESORT! You will be in a cabin with no neighbors. We have selected these sites to accommodate people who have a need to be in the wilderness, but do not need to be in a tent. If you have the opportunity to become our guests, we already know who you are: you are hard-working, need peace and quiet and have great respect for the natural world. Email us: [email protected]
